My World Shared

My World Shared ExhibitionMy World Shared is the first exhibition by IGers London. IGers London are a group of individuals from London and beyond with a shared passion for iPhoneography, and more specifically a free iPhone app called Instagram.

The idea of the exhibition came out of an Instameet held in the Brick Lane area, a busy vibrant part of London. Wouldn’t it be amazing to see the iPhone created works come to life in a gallery space? So IGers London first Instagram exhibition is born.

My World Shared captures the concept of Instagram – to record in images our world around us, our lives, our outlook, our views, and share that view with the rest of the world. It is an individual view, but one that others can relate to, like postcards from a friend.

My World Shared Exhibition will take place at the East Gallery – Brick Lane – London.

The Exhibition will be opened for Public on the 22nd and 23rd of October 2o11, from 12pm until 8pm.

We would like also to thank our Sponsors and Partners who have made everything possible.

About Us

Jess Loves InstagramSince its creation in March 2011, @IGersLondon has grown into a vibrant community of people from various backgrounds. As part of the first worldwide Instameet we were brought together by the love of photography on our iPhones and there is nothing like a bunch of IGers talking about apps! The group organises regular ‘photowalks’ and we plan to end up in a beautiful pub or gorgeous surroundings to sit and chat away the last few hours of the day!
Our first meetup in London Bridge was a huge success with 20 Londoners coming together – learning that we all walk past similar things every day in London and photograph them. We have walked down Brick Lane taking amazing street scenes photos, and the Camden walk where we wandered up Primrose Hill for the fantastic views and ended up in a carnival down the road!
We have met on four large meetups and lots of small gatherings – the last one being the Thames Festival where we ended the day sat outside a pub by the river, chatting away and photographing the Thames beach and double rainbows! Life doesn’t get much better than that!
We have 2 Facebook communities, Instagramers London and Instagramers UK as well as @IGersLondon and @IGersUK on Twitter and Instagram. We also have a London Instagram Community on the Meetup web site.
We love to meet and welcome new people – please join our groups and say hi!

Instagram has opened my eyes to new countries, cultures and communities. It is now the first thing I look at in the morning and the last thing I look at at night. What better way to tell the story of your life than with a picture?
